Refund Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

We'd rather lose £149 than argue. Here's exactly how that works — for read tests, for ebooks we write, and for market tests.

1. After your order is delivered

If you're not happy with your test report, your ebook or your market test — for any reason — email support@testreaders.com within 7 days of delivery and we'll refund the full price. For an ebook, that window runs from the final delivery: if you use your revision round, it restarts when the revised files arrive. You can tell us why (it helps us), but you don't have to.

One carve-out, and only one: on the £199 market test, the £100 of advertising spend can't come back once the ads have run — it's already with the ad platform, not with us. Everything else on that order is refundable on the same terms, and if we haven't placed the spend yet you get all of it back.

2. Before the work starts

For a test: cancel any time before we've assigned readers to your manuscript for a full refund. For an ebook: cancel any time before you've approved the outline for a full refund — the outline itself is on us. For a market test: cancel any time before the research starts, or before we've placed any ad spend, for a full refund. Once readers have started reading, writing has begun, or the ads are live, the work is in motion and the post-delivery window above applies instead.

3. If we fail to deliver

If your report doesn't arrive within 14 days of payment and receipt of a readable manuscript — or your ebook files don't arrive within 5 days of you approving the outline, or your market test within 3 days of a usable brief (10 days with the ad test) — you can choose a full refund or a new deadline. Your call, not ours.

To be clear about what "fail to deliver" means for a market test: it means the report didn't arrive, not that you didn't like what it said. A verdict of "don't publish this here" is a delivered report — usually the most useful one we send. You can still ask for a refund under section 1 if you're unhappy with the work itself; we just won't pretend a bad answer is a missing one.

4. What a refund doesn't require

5. How it's paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

6. The one honest caveat

A refund doesn't un-deliver the report, the ebook files or the market test — you're free to keep them. We rely on people not ordering purely to refund; if a pattern of that emerges from the same person, we'll decline future orders rather than argue about past ones.
